For Autumn/Winter 2018 Takahiro Miyashita, alongside with his long-time friend and partner Jun Takahashi, chose to explore the spine-chilling world of dystopian future filled with menacing AI and advanced technology. While Takahashi's collection was reference-wise rich, Miyashita's did not include any apparent cultural allusions. Instead, it was something more personal for the designer. In itself, the collection combined state-of-the-art techwear with fine tailoring — clothing that one could call utilitarian. Each look, presented to an ominous Trent Reznor soundtrack, was composed of a traditional base with utility detailing, which came in shape of additional pockets, straps, zippers, quilted collar hoods, face masks, etc.
