Created in 1992, Miu Miu is a subsidiary brand of Prada and is creatively headed by Miuccia Prada. It was also named after the family’s nickname that others titled them. Otherwise Miu Miu is the unrestricted output for Miuccia Prada and an opportunity for her to release her imagination onto her clothing. It combines both the intellectual and sensual aspects of women and portrays a strong sense of femininity and power as well as becoming a powerhouse of unique and elegant designs that captures the spirit of a woman.

What separates Miu Miu and Prada, are the more spontaneous designs that appear within Muccia’s imagination leading to more avant garde conceptualizations. Experimentation runs rampant through the designs of Miu Miu centralizing on defining women’s roles in contemporary society. Prada on the other is more reserved and restricted creating a sense of luxury through their sleek but powerful designs.
