For the 1996 Autumn/Winter collection Miyake combined everyday clothing with his signature sewing techniques and a dazzling color palette: everything from washed corduroy work jackets, quilted puffer topcoats and metallic trenches to comfortable knitted cardigans, colorblocked sweaters and pleated evening wear was presented on the runway leaving the show's guests in awe.
