Founded in Milan in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana quickly became one of Italy’s most recognizable fashion houses. The designers developed a distinctive visual language rooted in Italian culture, Mediterranean sensuality, cinematic glamour, and highly expressive femininity.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the house became particularly influential for its corsetry, lingerie-inspired silhouettes, distressed and embellished denim, animal prints, tailoring, and provocative runway styling.
