COVERAGE

Raf Simons SS02 collection materialized the essence of rage and fear mongering through graphic imagery, visual poetry, and the runway show itself. Graphic genius Peter De Potter under Raf’s direction created lasting images and typo-graphics that embellished menacing silhouettes. “Woe Onto Those Who Spit on the Fear Generation... The Wind Will Blow It Back”, shows Raf Simons at his rawest, most enraged state of being.
Influenced by the tragic events of 9/11, the runway presentation was brazenly militant. The collection channeled the restless feelings of the youth in an age of fear mongering. Simons’s youthful soldiers, however, appeared to have had enough of it. Stomping down the runway with smoking, red flares in hand. Notably, this collection was one of Peter de Potter’s first collaborations with Simons.
