DESCRIPTION

Maison Martin Margiela has been notoriously labelled as an “anti-fashion” brand ever since his inception with his first collection debut in 1989. Taking some inspiration from Rei Kawakubo, his designs are considered to be distinctly conceptual and unconventional. A substantial part to his resume is experimenting with recycling and deconstructed elements. Denim re-purposed into a wallet pouch.

The "0 - Artisanal Line” was the foundation of the “rebuild” method that has become quite trendy in modern design, however no one will ever replicate Margiela’s specific use of deconstruction. He observed the “rules of fashion,” and simultaneously followed, and dismantled them, yet did so with restraint.
