AUTUMN/WINTER 2005

Season Coverage

Perhaps a natural progression from Undercover’s AW04-AW05 ‘But Beautiful’ series of collections, the Japanese cult brand continued its investigation into the adolescent spirit through AW05 collection ‘Arts & Crafts.’ Inspired by children’s inclination towards making art with unrefined materials, ‘Arts & Crafts’ enhanced this concept using felt as its primary focus. Compromised of everyday clothing presented as amateur construction will full intention, with felt seemingly glued onto the exterior and skulls cut from felt and plastered about the garments. It is also worth noting that the female models presented during the runway show were styled with a mature taste and yet conversely portrayed as children through the use of felt wigs.
