For Autumn/Winter 1999 Issey Miyake continued to adhere to the comfort-and-convenience philosophy that led his earlier works, while merging classic formalwear with innovative technology. The models went down the runway dressed in tailored suits, tuxedos and linen blazers worn casually over chili red t-shirts, whilst in the latter half of the show, garments saw occasional techwear detailing, thus unveiling the utilitarian side of Miyake's unique vision.
